Spring time is about renewal, it's time for a 2026 refresh
Leaning-in to the renew and refresh vibes that the season brings
Spring 2024
Two years ago I made a big change and started using GLP-1 meds. I decided enough was enough, that chronic obesity had dominated my life for too long. It was time to change and I have written about the one weekend where that became very clear.
Spring 2025
One year ago I started writing about my experiences here on Substack. Writing is part of my professional work but to write about my personalal experiences in my own voice, and to share that openly with anyone who wants to read it - that was another big change.
Since then, the articles I have written have been read by you and others all over the world. I started with an audience of zero. That grew by a few when I started sharing with my immediate family, and it has kept growing - I’m so grateful for every person who opens the emails, finds me on Substack and reads about my experiences.
Some of you have even been kind enough to support my writing by buying me a coffee.
Spring 2026
And so to now. I’ve given it a lot of thought and I’m revamping the page. I’ve started by altering the name slightly, it’s now Real GLP-1 Experiences.
I’m going to put my professional skills into practice in this space. As a teen I wanted to be a features writer on a glossy magazine so I gained a Journalism degree and wrote for magazines in the first few years of my career.
Over the last 16 years (*gulp* how has it been that long) of my career I have written endless features, ghost-written thought leadership pieces, news articles, in-depth guides, culture reviews, profiles, interviews and more - so I should be able to apply some of that experience to this page!
Over the coming weeks I’ll be introducing new sections which will become regular features. The essence of the page will remain - what it is really like to take GLP-1s, what impact do they have on a regular person’s life, and how are they percieved?
So, coming soon to Real GLP-1 Experiences…
monthly interviews with other people about GLP-1s - hear from doctors, professors, writers, content creators, and others in the GLP-1 space
regular progress check-ins, so you can see in real time how things are going (and to hold me accountable)
a monthly reflection piece on how GLP-1s impact life and culture written by me, myself and I
access to the full article archive
a short monthly update, recapping some of the headlines from the above sections.
As well as changing the format, I’m going to be introducing paid subscriptions. Paid subscribers will get acces to all of the above, and those who want to stay on a free subscription will be sent the short monthly update (number 5 on the list above).
I really hope you’ll decide to keep reading, and that you will consider upgrading to the paid subscription. It costs just £4 per month - that’s only 5p more than a Sainsbury’s meal deal and you will get so much more than a sad sandwich, a bag of BBQ beef hula hoops, and a diet coke.
I have even set up a special offer so you can upgrade to a paid subscription and save 20% for your first three months.
So will you join me in the new era? I hope so. And if you want to stay as a free subscriber, that’s cool too.
I’m so grateful to everyone for your support, encouragement and comments. Onwards!
And who know’s what changes I’ll be making in spring 2027!
